Mangalore IAS – A School for Civil Services Inaugurated at Sandesha Foundation
Mangaluru, July 10: A new milestone in civil services coaching in Mangaluru was marked with the inauguration of “Mangalore IAS – A School for Civil Services” at the Sandesha Foundation campus on Friday at 10 a.m.
The institute was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of the Diocese of Ballari and President of Sandesha Foundation, who cut the ribbon and blessed the institution.
The formal function began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Swami Yugananda of the Ramakrishna Math, who also delivered his blessings.
Presiding over the programme, Most Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza encouraged students to remain focused on their goals. He said that where a person is born is not important; what truly matters is the destination one reaches, the achievements one attains, and the positive contribution one makes to society.

Chief Guest Swami Yugananda noted that Dakshina Kannada has earned recognition in the fields of education, commerce, banking, and healthcare. He pointed out that several national banks originated from the district, though many people are unaware of this fact. He observed that the absence of a dedicated IAS and competitive examination coaching centre in the district had been a matter of concern and expressed happiness that this gap had now been addressed through the establishment of Mangalore IAS. He hoped that the institution would greatly benefit aspiring civil servants.
Speaking on the occasion, Walter Nandalike, Director of Daijiworld, said that he had once aspired to join the police service but lacked proper guidance at the time. Today, students have access to several coaching centres and information resources. He expressed particular happiness at seeing a large number of young women attending the programme and said he looked forward to seeing them serve the nation in responsible administrative positions. He appreciated the launch of the institute and wished it success in producing capable officers who would bring pride to Dakshina Kannada.
Rev. Fr. Roshan Rosario, Director of Sandesha Foundation, welcomed the gathering.
Santosh Rao, Founder of Mangalore IAS, explained the vision of the institution and provided details about its courses and training programmes.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Roy Castelino, Trustee of Sandesha Foundation.
The programme was compered by Jasmine Jennifer and concluded with the National Anthem.
