St Agnes College Organises Seminar on Navigating Academic Stress for MBA Students
Mangaluru, July 24: The Department of Business Administration (MBA), St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, in association with the Catholic Association of South Kanara (CASK), organised an insightful seminar on “Navigating Academic Stress in Professional Programs” for first-year MBA students on July 24 at the Seminar Hall, Centenary Block.
The seminar aimed to help students understand the causes of academic stress and equip them with practical strategies to maintain their mental well-being while pursuing professional education.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome, followed by an address by Mr. Ronald Gomes, President of CASK, who highlighted the importance of prioritising mental well-being alongside academic success.

The keynote session was delivered by Dr. Paul Aquinas, Chairman, Postgraduate Studies and Research, Department of Social Work, Mangalore University. Drawing on his extensive academic and professional experience, Dr. Aquinas explained the various factors contributing to academic stress and discussed effective ways to manage it. He emphasised the importance of self-awareness, resilience, time management, effective planning, and seeking timely support to cope with stress in a healthy and constructive manner.
The seminar was highly interactive, encouraging students to reflect on their own experiences and adopt positive coping mechanisms. Participants gained valuable insights into maintaining mental wellness while striving for academic excellence and were motivated to cultivate healthy habits for both personal and professional growth.
The programme concluded with a question-and-answer session, followed by a vote of thanks.
