‘Sumadhur’ Musical Concert by Joshal D’Souza Launched in Mangaluru – Tickets Now Available

Mangaluru: The city is gearing up for a musical extravaganza as the much-awaited Konkani concert ‘Sumadhur’, presented by celebrated singer and vocal trainer Joshal D’Souza, prepares for its grand premiere on November 15 at 4:30 p.m. at St Agnes Auditorium, Mangaluru.

A grand ticket launch event was recently held, graced by distinguished personalities including Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, Provincial Superior, OFM Capuchin; Walter Nandalike, Founder, Daijiworld Media Pvt. Ltd.; Anil Lobo, Chairman, MCC Bank Ltd.; Sanjay Rodrigues, Music Director; and Stany Bela, Show Director. The event marked the official release of concert tickets and received overwhelming support from the local music and arts fraternity.

Speaking at the launch, Walter Nandalike lauded Joshal’s inspiring journey, saying, “After winning the prestigious Gulf Voice of Mangalore title, Joshal chose to follow her musical passion despite being an engineer. Her vision and dedication have made her a torchbearer for aspiring artistes.” He also emphasized the importance of valuing art and artistes, urging audiences to support ticketed performances as a mark of respect for artistic effort.

Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza recalled Joshal’s early struggles and praised her perseverance, saying, “She is now a shining star in the Konkani music world — a talented singer, composer, teacher, and actor who inspires the next generation.”

Anil Lobo highlighted Joshal’s contribution as a mentor, noting that “Sumadhur Sangeeth Academy is shaping future musicians who will carry forward the Konkani legacy.”

A Star-Studded Musical Evening

The concert ‘Sumadhur’ promises to be a spectacular celebration of young talent and rich Konkani music. The music is arranged by Sanjay Rodrigues, featuring an ensemble of renowned musicians including Roshan Crasta Bela, Melwyn Leema, Stalin, Veekshith Udupi, Prajwal Fronteiro, and Sanjeeth Rodrigues.

Adding to the vibrance, the dynamic dance troupe Urban Groove will deliver high-energy performances, while over 150 children from Sumadhur Sangeeth Academy will showcase their musical talents alongside Joshal. A special Children’s Baila segment will make the concert lively and family-friendly. The event will be compered by Nelson Monis, Ujire, and directed by Stany Bela, ensuring a seamless and entertaining experience.

With over a decade of experience, Joshal D’Souza has lent her voice to numerous Konkani songs and albums, collaborated with top composers, and served as a judge on popular TV shows such as Jigibi Taram, Trio Singing Stars, and Soad-5. She is the founder of Sumadhur Sangeeth Academy®, a reputed institution with over 200 students across coastal Karnataka and the Gulf, offering Karnataka government-authorized music grade exams and opportunities to record and perform professionally.
