5th National Konkani Charoli Literature Conference Inaugurated in
St. Rita School Inaugurates Clubs to Foster Student Creativity and Leadership
Mangaluru, July 20: St. Rita English Medium School, Jeppu, inaugurated its various school clubs with great enthusiasm on Monday, marking the beginning of the academic year’s co-curricular activities. The event witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and guests.
The programme commenced with a prayer service, followed by a colourful welcome dance. Master Lennon of Class VII delivered the welcome address, while Ms. Shreya of Class X compered the programme.
The Science Club, Literary Club, Eco Club, Computer Club, and Art & Craft Club were formally inaugurated by Joint Secretary Rev. Fr. Rithesh Rodrigues, Headmistress Mrs. Matilda D’Costa, PTA Vice-President Mrs. Pushpawati, and student representatives of the respective clubs.

Each club showcased its objectives and activities through engaging demonstrations. The Literary Club presented role plays portraying the lives and contributions of renowned English and Kannada poets and writers. The Science Club captivated the audience with a model rocket launch and a series of exciting science experiments. The Computer Club demonstrated Python programming and gave an informative presentation on OMR sheets. The Art & Craft Club displayed glitter art and a variety of creative craft works, while the Eco Club staged a thought-provoking skit highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, tree plantation, cleanliness, and proper waste disposal.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Rithesh Rodrigues emphasized the vital role of school clubs in nurturing students’ creativity, leadership, teamwork, and overall personality development. He encouraged every student to actively participate in club activities and make the best use of these platforms to discover and develop their talents.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Sugadha of Class VIII, followed by the National Anthem.
The inauguration marked a vibrant beginning to the school’s club activities, inspiring students to explore their interests, enhance their skills, and contribute meaningfully to their personal and academic growth.
