Mount Carmel Primary Students Celebrate the Dual Spirit of Kannada Rajyotsava and National Unity Day
Mangaluru: The Primary students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and National Unity Day 2025 with immense pride and patriotic fervour on October 31, 2025.
The celebration began with a prayer seeking divine blessings, followed by a graceful welcome dance that set a festive tone. Students Raiza, Aiden, Haksh, Vian, Sayaan, and Dhruvith warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. Roshan Crasta, Radio Programme Producer at St Aloysius University, and introduced him to the audience.
A heartfelt tribute was offered to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, honouring his pivotal role in uniting the princely states after Independence. The students then showcased a vibrant dance performance to the tune of “Nadageethe”, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka. A thought-provoking skit, “One India, Great India”, beautifully portrayed the unity in diversity of the nation, with students representing various states in colourful attire that filled the auditorium with pride and patriotism.

In his address, Mr. Crasta praised the students’ performances and encouraged them to uphold the spirit of unity in diversity through their daily actions. He also felicitated the winners of various competitions.
Sr. Carissima, the Administrator, recalled the historical journey of Karnataka Rajyotsava, from the erstwhile states of Madras and Mysore to the formation of Karnataka. She lauded the creativity and teamwork of the students and teachers of Grade III D and E for hosting the event successfully.
The programme was compered by Ayush, Seth, Tapasya, Varali, Ananya, Yuvansh, and Kiyon, while Hamshika, Samhitha, Pooja, and Hardik proposed the vote of thanks.
The celebration concluded on a joyful and unifying note, radiating the values of harmony, pride, and togetherness.
