St. Joseph Engineering College hosts PG Graduation Day for the Class of 2025
Mangaluru: The PG Graduation Day – 2025 of St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, was held on Saturday, 21 February 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the Kalam Auditorium of the college. The ceremony witnessed the awarding of Postgraduate Degree Certificates to the Class of 2025, comprising 110 MBA graduates, 119 MCA graduates and 5 MBA (IEV) graduates.
The programme commenced with an invocation, seeking divine blessings for the graduates as they embarked on a new phase of their professional journey.
Dr. T. N. Nagabhushana, Vice Chancellor of Kishkinda University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. John Rohan, Client Services Manager at Global E-SoftSys Pvt Ltd and an alumnus (MBA Batch 2007–2009), was the Guest of Honour. Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore and President of SJEC, presided over the function.
Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of SJEC, delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, dignitaries, graduates, parents and faculty members. Principal Dr. Rio D’Souza introduced the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour.
In his address, Mr. John Rohan remarked that SJEC is not merely an institution but a foundation that shapes one’s future. Recalling project deadlines and teamwork from his student days, he emphasized that a postgraduate degree brings responsibility and demands leadership, ethical thinking and continuous learning. He urged graduates to adapt to rapid technological changes, build strong character, choose the harder right, and measure success by the impact they create. He concluded with his mantra of hard work, dedication and God’s grace.

The presentation of certificates was the highlight of the ceremony, as MBA, MCA and MBA (IEV) graduates were conferred their postgraduate degrees in the presence of the dignitaries. Dr. Rio D’Souza administered the Graduation Oath, wherein the graduates solemnly pledged to uphold ethical values and professional responsibilities in their respective careers.
Representing the Class of 2025, Ms. Michelle Monteiro (MBA) and Ms. Rashmitha Shet (MCA) delivered the graduate response. They reflected on their transformative academic journey at SJEC and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the management, faculty and parents for their constant support and guidance.
In his Graduation Address, Dr. T. N. Nagabhushana congratulated the graduates on their academic accomplishment and highlighted the importance of ethical leadership, innovation and lifelong learning. He encouraged them to embrace emerging technologies, demonstrate social responsibility and strive for excellence in their professional pursuits.
Scholastic achievers, including rank holders and sports achievers, were recognised and honoured during the ceremony. Felicitations were accorded to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour by the Bishop as a token of respect and gratitude.
Delivering the Presidential Address, the Bishop congratulated the graduates and reminded them that true success lies in character and values. He encouraged them to dream big, remain compassionate and contribute meaningfully to society while staying connected to their alma mater.
Rev. Fr. Kenneth R. Crasta, Assistant Director; the Deans and Heads of Departments; and Ms. Jayashree M, Co-convenor, were also present. Ms. Acharya Chitralekha J, Convenor, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Mr. Nelson Fernandes and Ms. Prajwala Preema Rodrigues.
