Panir Church Organises Aadhaar Services and Health Insurance Awareness Drive; Over 200 Beneficiaries Served
Mangaluru, July 12: Our Lady of Mercy Church, Panir, organised an Aadhaar enrolment and update camp, along with a Health and Accident Insurance Awareness Drive, on Sunday, July 12, in the church hall.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Panir, in collaboration with the Department of Posts, Mangaluru, with the support of the Catholic Sabha Panir Unit, Health Commission, Family Commission, Labour Commission, Social Development Commission, ICYM Panir Unit, St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) Society, and the Women’s Association.
The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Mercy Church, who symbolically distributed an Aadhaar Card to Vice President Urban Ferrao and a Health Insurance Policy to Secretary Winnie Coutinho.
Alwyn D’Souza, Coordinator of the parish commissions, welcomed the gathering, while Ronald D’Souza, Parish Pastoral Council member, compered the programme.
Subhash P. Salian, Marketing Executive of the Department of Posts, delivered an informative session on the importance, benefits, and need for Health Insurance and Accident Insurance, creating awareness among the participants.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello said that it is far better for every family to obtain health and accident insurance before facing medical emergencies, as insurance provides vital financial protection during difficult times.


Among those present were Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello, Vice President Urban Ferrao, Secretary Winnie Coutinho, Coordinator of Parish Commissions Alwyn D’Souza, Subhash P. Salian, Marketing Development Officer, Department of Posts (Pandeshwar), Mahesh Kumar, Postmaster, Deralakatte Post Office, Priscilla Monteiro, Convener of the Health Commission, Gilbert D’Souza, Convener of the Labour Commission, Staney Rodrigues, Convener of the Family Commission, Franky Coutinho, Convener of the Social Development Commission and President of the SVP Society, Ivan Monteiro, President of the Catholic Sabha Panir Unit, Preetham D’Souza, President of ICYM Panir, and Leticia Rodrigues, President of the Women’s Association.
The camp was conducted continuously from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., during which more than 200 beneficiaries availed themselves of services including Aadhaar enrolment and corrections, Health Insurance, and Accident Insurance. Breakfast and lunch were also provided to all participants.
At the conclusion of the programme, Alwyn D’Souza, Coordinator of the Parish Commissions, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the officials and staff of the Department of Posts, the conveners of the various commissions, office-bearers of the organisations, volunteers, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
