St Aloysius PU College Concludes PULSE 2026 with Grand Celebration of Talent and Leadership
Mangaluru: St Aloysius Pre-University College concluded PULSE 2026, its annual inter-class talent hunt, with vibrant grand finales held under the inspiring theme “Rise with Talent, Lead with Humanity.” The month-long event celebrated creativity, artistic excellence, collaboration, and holistic student development, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to nurturing individuals who excel in both talent and character.
PULSE 2026 was inaugurated on June 8 with the unveiling of the official logo and the announcement of the event theme. The inaugural ceremony marked the beginning of one of the college’s most anticipated student events, inspiring participants to pursue excellence while embracing the values of empathy, leadership, and service. An energetic flash mob presented by the students added colour and enthusiasm to the occasion.
More than an inter-class competition, PULSE served as a vibrant platform for students from the Science, Commerce, and Arts streams to discover, develop, and showcase their talents beyond the classroom. Throughout the month, the campus came alive with literary, cultural, artistic, and performing arts competitions, fostering creativity, teamwork, and healthy competition.
The event featured a wide range of individual and group competitions. Individual events included poetry writing in Kannada, Hindi, and English, story writing, Pick and Speak, Bharatanatyam, mono acting, face painting, pencil sketching, mehendi, and cooking without fire. Group competitions such as folk singing, reel making, and Mad Ad encouraged collaboration, innovation, and artistic expression.

The talent hunt culminated in spectacular variety entertainment competitions featuring captivating performances in music, dance, drama, and visual arts. The enthusiastic participation of students and the overwhelming response from the audience made the grand finale a fitting conclusion to weeks of preparation and spirited competition.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Rev. Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ reflected on the essence of true talent through the inspiring story associated with legendary violin virtuoso Niccolò Paganini. He reminded students that genuine excellence lies not in external resources but in confidence, perseverance, discipline, and dedication. Encouraging them to recognise their unique potential and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, he stressed that talent finds its highest purpose when used in the service of others. He urged students to become compassionate leaders who inspire positive change in society, truly embodying the spirit of PULSE 2026.

Congratulating the participants, Rev. Fr Anthony Derrick SJ, Campus Minister, appreciated the remarkable performances and the diverse talents displayed throughout the event. He observed that while some talents shine on stage, others quietly flourish behind the scenes, each equally valuable. Encouraging students to celebrate diversity and nurture their unique gifts, he also reminded them of the importance of silence, reflection, and humility. He concluded by stating that diversity remains the institution’s strength, beauty, and future.
The valedictory ceremony included the felicitation of winners across various competitions, along with the student convenors whose dedication contributed significantly to the successful organisation of the event.
