Creativity, Values and Sustainability Take Centre Stage at Mount Carmel School Feast Competitions
MANGALURU, July 17: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, organised a series of creative competitions across all grades as part of the celebrations of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of the school. The competitions provided students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents, creativity, environmental consciousness and values.
The celebrations commenced on July 10 with a Colouring Competition for Nursery, LKG and UKG students. The young participants enthusiastically coloured outlines of flowers, butterflies and mountains, bringing them to life with vibrant colours and joyful enthusiasm.
On July 11, students from Grades I to XII participated in a wide range of creative competitions designed to encourage imagination, teamwork and value-based learning.

Grade I students prepared greeting cards dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, while Grade II students crafted colourful blossom baskets. Grade III showcased artistic mountain models inspired by Mount Carmel, and Grade IV presented “Trees of Values” highlighting virtues such as love, compassion, honesty and kindness.
Continuing the celebrations, Grade V created Gardens of Carmel using eco-friendly materials, while Grade VI students transformed waste materials into useful school products, promoting sustainability and responsible resource management.

Grade VII students designed imaginative community models symbolising human values, and Grade VIII constructed impressive landmarks using recycled materials. Students of Grades IX and X developed intricate mountain landscapes that beautifully integrated themes of faith and universal values. The competitions concluded with Grades XI and XII presenting thought-provoking Story Sculptures, creatively conveying meaningful social and moral messages through visual art.
The competitions reflected remarkable creativity, innovation, teamwork and environmental awareness. The enthusiastic participation of the students, coupled with the dedicated guidance of the teachers, made the celebrations a grand success.
The event also reaffirmed Mount Carmel Central School’s commitment to holistic education by nurturing creativity, character, environmental responsibility and collaborative learning, while inspiring students to live up to the school’s motto, “Higher and Nobler.”
