Grade II Students Experience Joyful Learning at Mount Carmel Central School

Mangaluru, July 2026: Grade II students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, enthusiastically participated in a series of engaging classroom activities that transformed everyday lessons into enjoyable learning experiences through games, hands-on activities, and interactive teaching methods.

In English, students explored the concept of collective nouns through puzzles, a spinning wheel game, real-life objects, and self-created examples, making the learning process both meaningful and enjoyable.

In Hindi, the young learners practised the use of Chandrabindu (ँ) and formed words using the letter ‘ल‘, helping them strengthen their pronunciation, vocabulary, and language skills.

The Kannada activities, including ‘ಬನ್ನಿ ಪದ ಕಟ್ಟೋಣ‘ (Let’s Build Words) and ‘ಚಿತ್ರ ಹುಡುಕಿ ಅಕ್ಷರ ಜೋಡಿಸಿ‘ (Match the Picture with the Letter), encouraged students to form words using letter cards, read them aloud, and match pictures with corresponding letters, thereby enriching their vocabulary and improving their reading skills.

In Mathematics, students enthusiastically participated in activities on Ascending Order, Descending Order, Expanded Form, and Standard Form. Using colourful templates and interactive floor activities with number cards, they developed a stronger understanding of place value, number concepts, and sequencing.

The Science session provided a hands-on learning experience as students identified the internal organs of the human body by placing cut-outs of the brain, lungs, heart, stomach, liver, and intestines in their correct positions on a human body chart. The activity reinforced their understanding of the location and functions of each organ.

The thoughtfully designed classroom activities enhanced the students’ language, numeracy, and scientific understanding while building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and making learning both joyful and meaningful.
