Independence Day Celebration at Rohan Square, Pumpwell
Mangaluru, Aug. 15 – The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic fervour at Rohan Square, Pumpwell, by Rohan Corporation.
The programme commenced at 8:00 a.m. with the flag hoisting ceremony, witnessed by a large gathering of employees, labourers, and local residents, who came together to honour the nation. The National Flag was hoisted by Retired Army Officer Subedar Appu Shetty, creating a stirring moment of pride and unity.
Mr. Rohan Monteiro, Founder of Rohan Corporation, addressed the gathering and shared an inspiring message:
“Independence is not just a celebration for one day; it is a responsibility we must uphold every single day. It is essential for the younger generation to actively contribute towards nation-building.”
As a mark of respect and gratitude, Subedar Appu Shetty was felicitated on this occasion for his significant contribution to the nation. In his acceptance speech, he said: “Serving the nation has been the proudest moment of my life. This recognition will keep the memories of my service alive even in my retired life. Education, career, and wealth are only parts of life — today’s youth must also keep the goal of serving the nation close to their hearts.”
The event was graced by Mr. Dion Monteiro, Director of Rohan Corporation, and Ms. Sumana, General Manager, adding to the dignified atmosphere of the occasion.
