79th Independence Day Celebrated at AIMIT Centre with Patriotic Fervour
Mangaluru, August 15 – The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great pride and patriotism at St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), AIMIT Centre. The event brought together faculty, staff, and students in a meaningful commemoration of the nation’s journey to freedom.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Fr. Manoj Dsouza SJ, who unfurled the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, evoking a deep sense of national pride.
The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song by the college choir, setting a reflective tone for the morning. This was followed by a patriotic song that resonated with the spirit of unity and sacrifice.

In his address, Mr. Brill Brenhil, Assistant Professor, highlighted the inclusive essence of freedom, stating, “Independence is not about isolating ourselves, but about living together without stereotypes.”
The event was smoothly conducted under the leadership of Mr. Samarth Shetty, who served as the Commanding Officer for the day. The programme was eloquently compered by Mr. Vinay Krishna.
The celebration was further graced by the presence of Dr. Fr. Kiran Cotha SJ, Director, AIMIT Centre, whose support added to the significance of the event.
The day concluded on a high note, reinforcing the values of freedom, unity, and shared responsibility.
