St Philomena College Signs MoU with Global Reach to Boost International Education Opportunities
Puttur, July 26: St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Global Reach, an overseas education consultancy, to enhance international academic exposure and career opportunities for its students. The agreement was signed at the Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall of the college on Saturday.
The collaboration aims to provide students with greater access to global higher education opportunities, career guidance, and international academic engagement through workshops, counselling programmes and student support initiatives.
The MoU was signed during a programme presided over by Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of the college. Shan Peter Joseph, Head of the Mangaluru Centre, and Poornima M., Senior Student Counsellor, represented Global Reach.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Dr Monteiro said the institution is committed not only to providing quality education but also to preparing students for global academic and professional opportunities. He noted that the partnership with Global Reach would enable students to make informed decisions about higher education abroad and strengthen their career prospects through international exposure.
He encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities offered under the collaboration, including workshops, career guidance sessions and overseas education initiatives, to broaden their academic horizons and enhance their employability.
Dr Geetha Poornima K., Training and Placement Officer, welcomed the gathering, while Dr Vinayachandra, Director of the Research and Development Cell, highlighted the significance of the collaboration in strengthening the institution’s global engagement initiatives. Dr Edwin S. D’Souza, IQAC Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks, and Abhishek Suvarna, Training and Placement Officer, compered the programme.
Faculty members, non-teaching staff and final-year undergraduate students attended the event.
Orientation on Global Higher Education
Following the MoU signing, representatives of Global Reach conducted an orientation session on higher education opportunities abroad.
The session provided information on admissions to leading international universities, scholarship opportunities, application and student visa procedures, career counselling, complimentary TOEFL and PTE coaching, psychometric career assessments, internship opportunities in India and overseas, international education fairs, and avenues for academic collaboration with globally reputed institutions.
The speakers encouraged students to equip themselves with the knowledge, skills and global outlook required to succeed in an increasingly competitive international academic and employment landscape.
