Twelfth Graduation Day Celebrated with Grandeur at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru
Mangaluru, July 12, 2025: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, celebrated its Twelfth Graduation Day with grandeur and pride on Saturday, 12 July 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Mother Mary Aloysia Centenary Auditorium. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for 600 graduating students, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and the inaugural MBA and MCA batches of the institution.
The solemn occasion began with an invocation by the College Choir, led by Sr Christina A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Dr Sabina D’Souza, IQAC Coordinator, extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering.
In a graceful gesture of reverence and gratitude, the dignitaries and guests were honored with saplings by Sr Maria Naveena A.C., Provincial Superior of the Apostolic Carmel, Karnataka Province, and Sr Dr Maria Roopa A.C., Joint Secretary, St Agnes Institutions. The proceedings were smoothly compered by Dr Ita D’Souza, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry.
The Graduation Day was formally inaugurated by Sr Maria Naveena A.C., signifying a proud moment in the lives of the graduates. Mrs Shubha Rekha, Registrar, presented the graduates to the dignitaries, followed by the solemn administration of the graduation oath by Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C., Principal.
The highlight of the event was the Graduation Address delivered by the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr Dr Joseph C.C., Vice Chancellor of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru. In his inspiring message, he lauded the hard work and dedication of the graduates and urged them to face the world with integrity, empathy, and courage. He reminded them that convocation is not the end but a beginning, and encouraged them to pursue lives of purpose and service. He also paid tribute to St Agnes College’s legacy as a 105-year-old pioneer in women’s education and empowerment.
Sr Maria Naveena A.C., in her Presidential Address, congratulated the graduates on their academic journey and encouraged them to embrace the future with courage, creativity, and compassion.
The academic excellence of the students was celebrated as Mrs Shanthi Nazareth, Dean of Administration, announced the names of the Rank Holders, who were felicitated with certificates. Graduates from various streams were formally conferred their degrees during the ceremony.
Mrs Sheryl Preethika, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA, proposed the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging all who contributed to the success of the event. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by the Principal, Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C., as a token of appreciation.
Sr Maria Naveena A.C. formally declared the ceremony closed. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, marking a day filled with pride, joy, and the promise of new beginnings.
