Father Muller Commissions Advanced FUJIFILM 4K Multi-LED Endoscope System
Mangaluru, July 24: Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH), a unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), has strengthened its gastroenterology services with the commissioning of the FUJIFILM Advanced 4K Multi-LED Endoscope System at the Gastro Suite (Room 3), marking another milestone in its commitment to providing advanced, patient-centred healthcare.
The state-of-the-art endoscopy system was blessed and inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, in the presence of the FMCI Management Committee, faculty members, residents, nursing staff, and the Departments of Surgical and Medical Gastroenterology.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo said the institution has consistently invested in advanced medical technologies to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.
“Technology must always translate into better healing and better clinical outcomes. Every sophisticated machine we acquire should help us serve our patients with greater precision, compassion and efficiency. Providing an overview of the newly commissioned system, Dr. Ganesh M. K., Professor and Head of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, said the FUJIFILM Advanced 4K Multi-LED Endoscope System with the ELUXEO 8000 Processor is among the most advanced endoscopic imaging platforms available in the region. Equipped with ultra-high-definition 4K imaging, Multi-LED illumination technology, enhanced visualisation modes, superior colour reproduction, and improved vascular and mucosal assessment, the system enables clinicians to detect gastrointestinal abnormalities and early-stage lesions with greater precision and confidence.
Dr. Ganesh also announced the expansion of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology through two specialised sub-units: the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary & Liver Transplant Unit, headed by Dr. Ganesh M. K., and the Colorectal Proctology Unit, headed by Dr. Nagarjun Rao H. T. The new units are expected to further strengthen advanced gastrointestinal surgical care at the hospital.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Nagarjun Rao H. T., Associate Professor, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, who also compered the event. Dr. Abhijna Soori, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Sudheer K., Associate Professor, was also present.
