Mega Bible Convention 2026 at Holy Cross Church, Cordel from February 26
Mangaluru: A Mega Bible Convention will be held at the open grounds of Holy Cross Church, Cordel, Kulshekar, from February 26 to March 1, 2026, between 4:00 pm and 8:30 pm each day.
The convention is organised by the Mangalore Diocese Charismatic Service Communion in association with the Commission for Bible of the Diocese of Mangalore.
For the celebration of the Word of God Sunday 2026, Pope Leo XIV has given the theme, “The Word of Christ dwells among you,” drawn from St Paul’s Letter to the Colossians (Col 3:16). The same theme has been adopted for the Mega Bible Convention 2026.
The main thrust of the convention is to celebrate the Word of God dwelling among the faithful. It seeks to reflect on God’s abiding presence in human life and to help participants recognise how God accompanies them in their struggles, joys, and sorrows, guiding them to shape a life pleasing to Him. Through convention gatherings, prayer, Eucharistic celebrations, and retreat experiences, the faithful express their longing for God’s divine presence.
Each day of the convention will include a Eucharistic celebration, Meditation on the Holy Rosary, in-depth talks on selected themes in Konkani and English, reflections on passages from the Bible, Eucharistic Adoration, praise and worship, and healing prayers. Eight priests will proclaim and reflect on the Word of God, while four priests will lead the Eucharistic Adoration. Lay ministers will animate prayerful singing and praise sessions on all days.

As in previous years, a large gathering of the faithful is expected at the Cordel Church grounds. The organisers have invited all to participate in the convention and encourage others to attend, expressing hope that the event will help many experience the living presence of God in their lives.
