Motivational Team Training on “Gender Equality and Justice” Held at CODP
Mangaluru: A Motivational Team Training on “Gender Equality and Justice” was held at CODP on November 17, 2025, in collaboration with KROSS Bangalore and CODP® Mangalore under the Women Empowerment Project.
The programme was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of:
- Mr. Rajshekhar – Coordinator, Women Empowerment Project, KROSS Bangalore;
- Dr. Rohan S. Monis – Chief Administrative Officer, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre, Deralakatte; Head of the External Team for Gender Equality and Justice, CODP & Vice President, Catholic Association of South Kanara;
- Ms. Merlin Martis – Director, Deeds Social Service;
- Mrs. Seema – Secretary, Manini State Women’s Federation; and
- Rev. Fr. Vincent D’Souza – Director, CODP.

Resource person Ms. Merlin Martis delivered an insightful session on gender equality and justice, stressing the importance of fostering awareness within families and the responsibility of parents in guiding children from a young age. She highlighted how CODP’s internal and external teams can collaborate to conduct community-level training programmes, reiterating that both men and women play vital roles in building a harmonious and conscious society.
The programme was compered by Ms. Supriya, Coordinator of the Women Empowerment Project. Fr. Vincent D’Souza welcomed the guests, while Dr. Rohan Monis expressed his gratitude to the participants and encouraged them to be positive advocates against gender inequality. Mrs. Seema proposed the vote of thanks.
The event included thought-provoking discussions and proactive interactions, emphasizing the need for a focused and sustained approach to addressing gender inequality in society.
