IEEE Computer Society Investiture Ceremony Held at St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru
Bengaluru: The Computer Science Society, an integral part of the IEEE Student Chapter at St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru, marked a significant milestone with its Inauguration and Investiture Ceremony held on 19 January 2026. The event was a harmonious blend of inspiration, vision, and academic enthusiasm, reflecting the society’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of computer science.
The ceremony commenced with the gracious arrival of the esteemed dignitaries, formally inaugurating the event. This was followed by an invocation prayer led by Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, setting a solemn and reverent tone for the proceedings. The Lighting of the Lamp symbolized knowledge, wisdom, enlightenment, and leadership, marking an auspicious beginning.
Dr. Deepa Nagalavi, Advisor of the IEEE Computer Society, introduced the Chief Guest, highlighting his distinguished contributions to IEEE, professional achievements, and continued mentorship of student communities.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Devendra Gowda, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, encouraging students to actively engage in IEEE activities, strengthen their technical competencies, embrace innovation, and undertake leadership roles with integrity and dedication.
Student leaders Ms. Rida Quazi and Mr. Farhanulla Sami shared their perspectives, expressing enthusiasm, vision, and a strong commitment to organizing impactful technical, professional, and community-oriented initiatives under the IEEE Computer Society.
The highlight of the event was the Investiture Ceremony, during which the newly elected office bearers were formally inducted and honoured. This was followed by the Oath-Taking Ceremony, administered by Dr. Deepa Nagalavi, reaffirming the office bearers’ pledge to serve responsibly and ethically.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Amrutha M, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, and participants for their invaluable support and presence.
