Paldane Church: Annual Feast of St Sebastian Ward
Mangaluru: The annual feast of St Sebastian Ward of St Teresa’s Church, Paldane, was held at the open ground of ward member Roshan Simon D’Souza. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, presided over the programme. In his address, he praised the St Sebastian Ward as a model ward for others, stating that all its activities are conducted in a well-organised and disciplined manner.
The chief guest, Church Vice-President Elias Fernandes, speaking on the occasion, said that while the church is completing 20 years since its establishment, this ward has set a record by celebrating its 16th annual feast. Celine D’Souza, the Ward Leader, welcomed the gathering.
Academic and sports achievers of the ward were honoured, and prizes were distributed to the winners of various sports competitions. Church Secretary Roshan Monteiro; Sr Monti; representatives Clifford Rodrigues and Cynthia Tellis; and Church Deacon Rovin Lopez were present for the programme. Also present were ward leaders from other wards, Choir Leader Lizzy Fernandes, former Secretary Austin Monteiro, Alban Monteiro, Priscilla Fernandes, and others.
Members of the ward presented a variety of cultural and entertainment programmes, including songs and skits. The keyboard accompaniment was provided by Lanish. The programme was compered by Rishal and Flavia. The celebration concluded with a fellowship meal.
