Ladyhill School (ICSE) Organises Orientation Programme to Empower Parents and Students of Grades V to VIII
Mangaluru, June 2026: Ladyhill School (ICSE), Urwa, Mangaluru, conducted orientation programmes for the parents and students of Grades V to VIII with the objective of strengthening the home-school partnership and familiarising families with the academic framework, school initiatives, and expectations for the academic year 2026–27.
Orientation Programme for Grades VII and VIII
The orientation programme for students and parents of Grades VII and VIII commenced with a prayer service, followed by a vibrant welcome presentation by the teachers. Ms. Sherine Vinod welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person, Ms. Sunitha Singh, Physics and Artificial Intelligence Educator at Mount Carmel Central School.
Delivering an engaging session on Digital Discipline, Ms. Sunitha Singh highlighted the importance of responsible technology use, healthy screen-time habits, parental guidance, and maintaining a balance between digital engagement and activities such as reading, outdoor play, creativity, and meaningful family interactions.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Sr. Therese Teena AC emphasized the importance of discipline, academic excellence, and parental involvement in nurturing confident, responsible, and successful learners. Parents were also familiarised with the curriculum, assessment framework, examination pattern, school app, PTA Audit Report, and other key academic procedures for the year.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Anna Gemini, who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support and participation. The proceedings were gracefully compered by Ms. Angel Shaina, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
The session proved to be insightful and enriching, fostering stronger collaboration between parents and the school while equipping families to support the holistic development of students.
Orientation Programme for Grades V and VI
The orientation programme for parents and students of Grades V and VI was held on June 23, 2026, with the objective of strengthening the home-school partnership and promoting the holistic development of students.
The programme began with a prayer service invoking God’s blessings for a fruitful academic year, followed by a vibrant welcome presentation by the students. Ms. Rita Maben welcomed the gathering and introduced the keynote speaker, Ms. Jestalaxmi Boloor, Counselling Psychologist and Life Skills Trainer at Alva’s Ayur Care.
In her keynote address, Ms. Jestalaxmi Boloor focused on the vital role of parents in shaping their children’s character, emotional well-being, and future success. She stressed the importance of open communication, positive parenting, responsible technology use, and fostering healthy habits and values at home.

Principal Sr. Therese Teena AC addressed the parents on discipline, academic expectations, and the significance of parental involvement in a child’s educational journey. Teachers familiarised parents with the curriculum, assessment methods, examination pattern, and classroom expectations for the academic year.
The Parent-Teacher Executive Committee (PTEC) elections were conducted by Administrator Sr. Ida Barboza AC, encouraging active parental participation in school activities. Parents were also briefed on the PTA Audit Report and guided on the effective use of the NeverSkip App, further enhancing communication and collaboration between the school and home.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Mallika Pushparaj.
Both orientation programmes served as valuable platforms for strengthening parent-school collaboration and equipping families with the knowledge and resources needed to support the overall growth, well-being, and success of their children.
