MCC Bank Marks 114 Years of Service with Inauguration of 22nd Branch at Deralakatte
Deralakatte, June 28, 2026: Commemorating 114 years of dedicated service since its establishment in 1912, MCC Bank Ltd. inaugurated its 22nd branch and a new ATM facility at Deralakatte on Sunday. The new branch is located on the ground floor of the Father Muller Complex, Deralakatte.
The branch was inaugurated by Sahakara Ratna Shri Anil Lobo, Chairman of MCC Bank Ltd. The ATM facility was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Nilesh Crasta, Administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte. Rev. Sr. Milli Fernandes, Superior General of the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters, inaugurated the Safe Room, while Rev. Fr. Nelson Deeraj Pais, Administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Pharmaceutical Division (FMHPD), launched the Bank’s E-Stamp facility. The branch was blessed by Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Panir.
The inaugural programme was presided over by Chairman Shri Anil Lobo. Rev. Sr. Milli Fernandes attended as the Chief Guest, while Rev. Fr. Nilesh Crasta and Mrs. Divya Sathish Shetty, President of Kotekar Gram Panchayat, were Guests of Honour. Vice Chairman Mr. Jerald Jude D’Silva and General Manager Mr. Sunil Menezes were also present on the dais.

In his presidential address, Shri Anil Lobo reaffirmed MCC Bank’s commitment to cooperative banking and customer-centric service. Thanking the people of Deralakatte for their warm welcome, he expressed confidence that the support and trust of the local community would contribute significantly to the success of the new branch.
Highlighting the Bank’s achievements, he said MCC Bank has earned strong goodwill by prioritizing customer needs while functioning strictly in accordance with RBI regulations. He also assured customers that all eligible deposits are protected under the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC), ensuring the safety of their funds.
Speaking about the Bank’s recent growth, Shri Lobo noted that five new branches had been opened under the current leadership, each achieving a business turnover of ₹10 crore within its first year of operation. He attributed this success to the dedication of employees and the confidence reposed by customers.
He further stated that MCC Bank is planning additional expansion and emphasized that prudent financial management, coupled with continuous monitoring of key performance indicators, has enabled the institution to safeguard public funds while securing regulatory approvals for growth.
Referring to Deralakatte’s strategic importance, he observed that the presence of reputed educational institutions, hospitals, and IT companies reflects the area’s tremendous growth potential. He appealed to residents to continue supporting MCC Bank in its mission of delivering quality financial services and contributing to regional development.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Victor D’Mello described the inauguration on a Sunday as a blessed occasion for the Christian community. He attributed the Bank’s success to the trust and confidence of the people and urged employees to treat every customer with dignity and respect, irrespective of appearance or social standing.
“Serving people is serving God,” he remarked, encouraging the staff to serve with sincerity, compassion, and dedication. He also expressed hope that MCC Bank would continue promoting communal harmony by providing inclusive banking services to all sections of society.

Chief Guest Rev. Sr. Milli Fernandes described the opening of the Deralakatte branch as another proud milestone in the Bank’s journey. She observed that MCC Bank has earned public confidence by mobilizing deposits and extending loans that support individuals, families, and businesses, thereby strengthening the local economy.
She further noted that the Bank’s savings schemes have helped many families achieve financial security and independence. Wishing the new branch success, she invoked blessings upon the management, staff, customers, and stakeholders.
Congratulating MCC Bank on the occasion, Rev. Fr. Nilesh Crasta drew parallels between the 146-year legacy of Father Muller Charitable Institutions and the 114-year legacy of MCC Bank, noting that both institutions were founded on the principles of service, trust, and humanity.
Emphasizing the importance of holistic development encompassing physical, mental, emotional, social, economic, and spiritual well-being, he described banking as a vital pillar of personal and community progress. He expressed confidence that MCC Bank would contribute significantly to the economic development of Deralakatte.
Mrs. Divya Sathish Shetty congratulated the Chairman, Board of Directors, management, and staff on the inauguration of the new branch. She wished the Bank continued expansion across Mangaluru and neighbouring regions and appealed to residents to extend their support for its sustained growth and prosperity.
As part of its community outreach initiatives, MCC Bank honoured several academic achievers from the region. The Bank also felicitated Mr. Franky Francis Cutinha, Mr. Alwyn Jerome D’Souza, Mr. Fayaz Madoor, CA Maxim Fernandes, Mr. Uggappa Poojary, and Mr. Shafi Babbukatte for their accomplishments in various fields.
The Bank distributed financial assistance to several charitable and educational causes, including ₹1,00,000 to the Ursuline Sisters’ Special School for Differently Abled Children, ₹25,000 towards the education of Ms. Princita D’Souza, ₹50,000 to Mercy Care Charitable Trust, represented by CA Maxim Fernandes, and ₹1,00,000 to Olavinahalli Ashram.
Engineer Mr. Karthik Kiran, who was associated with the interior development of the new branch, was felicitated for his contribution. Mementoes were also presented to the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour as tokens of appreciation.

The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Roshan D’Souza, Director of MCC Bank, while Ms. Shainy Veebha D’Souza compered the proceedings. The event featured the Bank Anthem, a prayer song by staff members, and a documentary showcasing MCC Bank’s rich history and achievements.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Juliet D’Souza, Branch Manager of the newly inaugurated Deralakatte branch.
