St Agnes College Students Support National Pulse Polio Immunization Drive
Mangaluru, June 30: As part of the National Pulse Polio Immunization Programme, the Agnes Towards Community (ATC) unit of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, actively participated in a community outreach initiative by assisting primary healthcare officials in administering polio drops to children in the adopted villages of Kotekar, Amblamogaru, Beeri, Bagambila, and Kinya.

Final-year BA and BSc students, who are members of ATC, conducted a door-to-door immunization drive in Kotekar, Amblamogaru, and Beeri villages on June 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The volunteers visited households to ensure that every eligible child received polio drops and educated parents on the importance of timely immunization and polio prevention.
The programme was organised in coordination with primary healthcare officials under the guidance of Dr Shailaja H. G., Coordinator of Agnes Towards Community (ATC). The initiative reflects the college’s commitment to community service, public health, and social responsibility through meaningful outreach programmes.
